16 Situations, 1971, was published as a book but it was also an installation.

16 Situations is about the way in which an object changes a situation and the way in which a situation changes an object. The concern is not only a formal one, but an enquiry into the nature of sculpture and its role as an artifact in society. For instance, in the great collaborative Art and Industry, as it is at present constituted, an industrialist sits with a token sculpture outside his window.

On a a more formal level the module / sculpture as an object fits easily into a Japanese interior.

Sixteen Situations consists of 16 framed photographic images placed in conjunction with a perspex sculpture 1" by 3" by 3", on a 3'6" pedestal.
